In this podcast, I speak with Dr. Reg Grant, professor at Dallas Theological Seminary, published novelist, actor, and apparently tap-dancer. In this part, Reg shares how two films affected his life (good timing with November's Artuality on movies!), and we begin our discussion of the artist's pursuit of truth.
Dr. Grant taught me about story structure and arc and character development.
This podcast runs four and a half minutes.

Thanks for this podcast. I appreciate his view of the artist as being inspired to creation and art, and that we bring "baggage" to our "objectivity."
I have been enjoying these blog posts, they are helping me in my own quest of faith and art.
What did you study at Dallas? Story arc and character development, in seminary...how shocking ;) He seems like a really cool guy...I liked hearing his story.
I know I'm late on this --- I've been reading posts, but not the comments. Today I'm trying to catch up. Anyway, I'm currently teaching a Bible study on Ruth in our moms group. I taught Esther last spring and now Ruth. I'm loving it, diving into all these different resources on the subject. In fact, I just finished reading Reg Grant's "Ebony Moon." I would love to read/see/hear your musical! Very cool.
